South Luangwa for leopard and guided walks, the Lower Zambezi for canoe and boat safaris, and Livingstone for Victoria Falls. This is a second or third safari rather than a first.

South Luangwa has one of the highest leopard densities in Africa and a strong walking and night drive culture. The Lower Zambezi is game viewed from the water, drifting past elephant and buffalo on the bank.
Livingstone sits on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, with the Devil’s Pool in low water and the knife edge bridge in high. It is the natural start or finish.
June to October is the dry season and the classic window. November to March is the emerald season: many bush camps close, the permanent lodges stay open, birdlife is superb and rates fall a long way.

Getting there, and how we quote it
Travel and access
Most itineraries route through Lusaka for South Luangwa, or Livingstone for the Falls and the Lower Zambezi.
Light aircraft transfers between camps are normal in Zambia and are included in our quotes where needed.
Walking safaris usually require a minimum age of twelve and are led by an armed guide with a scout ahead.

Zambian camps price seasonally and many are very small, so we quote this destination to order rather than publishing a rate card.

We do not publish a rate card for Zambia because the prices move by season and by availability, and a number on a page that we cannot hold is not useful to you. Send us your dates, your group and a rough budget, and we will come back with named properties, a routing and a total. For destinations outside our own operating area we work with vetted local operators, and we will tell you when that is the case.

Do you have set Zambia packages?–

Not published. Zambian camps price by season and many hold only six or eight beds, so we quote to order. Send us your dates and we will build a costed itinerary.
Is a walking safari safe?+

Walks are led by an armed guide with a scout ahead, in small groups, under strict protocols. It is a controlled activity rather than an adventure sport.
Can I combine Zambia with Kenya?+

Yes, via Nairobi or Johannesburg. It works best as a second safari once you have done East Africa.
